After a few taster sessions during the summer of 2017 where we learned from Chickenshed (London) and Tramshed (Blackpool) how they do it, we started our own weekly workshops.
We have around 35 young people between 2 workshops every week (children up to 12 yrs on a Thursday and youth 12-18yrs on a Wednesday). We are still looking to boost these workshops but given our rural setting we are pleased with the start.
We have launched our Adult workshop now which runs on a Wednesday evening. All workshops run term time only.
So far our workshops have been getting to know each other. This has been delivered through drama, music, movement and games. We have begun to learn Makaton sign language which is used in conjuction with the spoken word.
